The Error 923 is a Google Play Store error which prevents Android users from updating or downloading apps and games. The error message looks like this: "Viber" could not be downloaded due to an error (923). Popular apps affected by this Google Play Store bug include Facebook, Clash of Clans, Hearthstone, Whatsapp and Subway Surfer.  While I’m not sure what Android error code 923 exactly means, in order to fix it, you will use the cache clearing method, which has been used to solve other common Android market errors like RPC:S-7 and the infamous “unfortunately app has stopped error”. First Method : Clear Google app cache

  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> Swipe left to see “All” apps list
    • Scroll down and select “Google Play Store” 
    • Select “Force stop” and then “Clear Data” >> Select “Ok”
  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> Swipe left to see “All” apps list
    • Scroll down and select “Google Play Services” >> 
    • Select “Force stop” and then “Clear cache” >> Select “Ok”
  • (optional) Again go back to “All” app list 
    • Scroll down and select “Google Play Framework” >> 
    • Select “Force stop” and then “Clear Data” >> Select “Ok”


Once above steps are completed, open Google Play Store, add you Gmail account information and start downloading apps and games.

Second Method: Clear System Cache

  • Go to Settings >> Storage
  • Tap on “Cached Data” under Internal Storage
  • Press “OK” to clear cache
  • Now reboot and try to install the App from the Google Play Store
