How to fix error 501 on Google Play Store during download or installation

How to fix error 501 on Google Play Store during download or installation

Due to error 501 in Google Play Store Android users can’t install, download or update many apps and games on their Android phones or tablets. This problem is caused most of the time if you have multiple apps installations going on in the Play Store. In such case, cancel all the app installations and download them one by one. If you are a custom ROM user, you may get the 501 error code while updating Google Play Services. This is caused because you flashed an incompatible Gapps package or a buggy OS. In such a case, reflashing the OS + Gapps package could be the solution. In my case, the Google Play Store error code –501 popped up while installing an app update. Here are all the possible methods to fix Android error 501 in Google Play:

Android Fix: Google Play Error Code: -501

Google Play Store Error 501 while updating a Google app

Method 1: Reinstall

Simply cancel the installation process and try installing the app or game. If that didn’t fix it, uninstall the app/game completely and download it again from Google Play Store.

Method 2: Uninstall updates for Google play Services

This method will probably solve error 501 message while updating Google Play apps like Google Play Services, Google +, Google Play Games, YouTube, Gmail and so on.

  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> All
  • Scroll and select “Google Play Services”
    • Tap “Uninstall updates” and “clear data”
  • Also,  select "Google Play Store" and tap "Uninstall updates"
  • Again, go to Apps >> All >> select “Google Service framework”
    • Tap “Clear Data”
  • Open Google Play and download or update an app

Method 3: Resetting App preferences

Resetting app preferences will restore default settings for your apps. This won’t delete any data from your Android device.

  • Go to settings >> Apps
  • Press menu or the three dots on the top right
  • Select “Reset app preferences” >> Tap “OK”

Method 4: For custom ROM users (Cyanogenmod, Paranoid Android, SlimROM etc)

First try reflashing your OS and then a compatible GAPPs package. Go to recovery and wipe cache partition. See if that solved the 501 error in Google Play. If that didn’t work, you will need to entirely wipe the device (factory reset) and then run a fresh installation. For the fresh reinstallation try a different ROM and a new Gapps package. Reboot into recovery and proceed to flash the new zip files. That will almost certainly fix the 501 error message while updating Google Play Services.

Thanks for reading. Hope one of the above methods fixed “Can’t download app due to error code -501” in Google Play Store issue. If you have alternative solutions please suggest them in the comments.

How to setup Broadband Internet connection on Windows laptop or PC

How to setup Broadband Internet connection on Windows laptop or PC

If by any chance your router does not have a working WAN port, you will have to directly connect the Ethernet cable to your PC or laptop for the broadband internet connection to work. Most routers today support high speed Wi-Fi so there is hardly any use for the LAN port except in offices where several desktops are in close proximity. To setup broadband internet on your Windows laptop or desktop via Ethernet cable, you will simply need to connect the cable to your PC and then setup a Broadband connection using the username and password provided by your Internet Service provider.

  1.  Connect the broadband internet cable to your laptop’s Ethernet port
  2. Now you will see some blinking lights on the port, which tells you that the connection is working
  3. Now press windows key and search “network and sharing” and “select network and sharing center”
  4. Click on “Setup a new connection or network”
  5. Click “Broadband (PPPoE)
  6. Now type the username and password provided by your ISP (internet service provider)
    • You can also check mark “Remember this password” if you don’t want to login username and password after every reboot or shutdown
    • You can name the connection anything you like
  7. Click “Connect” and your laptop will start connecting to broadband connection.

You should now be able to browse the internet. If you get connection failed error 651 or error 619, it means you have input wrong username and’;’p password
If the desktop icon on the bottom right of your laptop screen has a red cross on it, it means the connection has no internet.

How to enable Developer Options USB Debugging in Zenfone 5 Zenfone 3 Zenfone 2 or any device

How to enable Developer Options USB Debugging in Zenfone 5 Zenfone 3 Zenfone 2 or any device

Android operating systems hide developer options in the settings because not every one needs it. However, if you do stuff like rooting and flashing custom ROMs, youll want to enable the USB debugging mode which can be accessed via developer option. The title says Zenfone 2 and Zenfone 5 but the method to enable this option is actually same for any android device. Zenfone 5 doesnt have official Lollipop update so the first step before you can flash a custom Android Lollipop 5 is to unlock the bootloader. To unlock bootloader you need to use ADB in USB debugging mode.

Update: Now you can easily unlock Zenfone 2s bootloader by using the official bootloader unlock tool.

Enabling developer options and debugging in ASUS Zenfone 2 and Zenfone 5 and other android devices

  • Go to Settings  >> Scroll all the way down and select "About phone (or tablet)"
  • Scroll down from About and select "Software information"
  • Tap on the Build number until you get a notification that says "developer option is enabled"
  • Go back to Settings  >> Scroll down and you will now see "Developer options"
  • Open Developer options and enable "USB debugging" (or Android debugging)
Once inside the Developer options you get access to lots of advanced features like advanced reboot, bug report, Bluetooth HCI snoop, Process Stats, show visual feedbacks for touches, show pointer location, show CPU usage and so on. If you have installed custom ROMs like Cyanogenmod 11, you will also get the option to enable or disable root.

Now that your USB debugging is on, you can proceed to root and unlock your devices bootloader. After that you simply need to flash the latest CWM (clockworkmod recovery) which lets you install the latest compatible custom ROMs in your Android device.

How to Always in MID or TOP Lane in League of Legends Rank Que

How to Always in MID or TOP Lane in League of Legends Rank Que

Be in MID or TOP Lane LOL Rank Season 6 Dynamic Que

League of Legends Rank Que

Now in the latest patch 6.2.16 league of legends PH, I found a little trick how to be in MID or TOP every single rank ques, but Im not sure if this is a bug, glitch or something like that. Being a MID or TOP lane is best choice for me so I can be a carry in my team, even if you have noob team mates! :)

In PH we practically called it "Buhat Mode" or "Taga Buhat". Of-course you cant be a "Taga Buhat" if you role a support. I must say being a jungler gets 40% success rate to carry a game. And being ADC is not enough to win a team fight and destroy nexus because we know ADC is for range and easy to kill by a melee champion!

But if you are a TOP lane like Darius, Garen, Nasus, Fiora, Jax, Yasou and Riven, I think you have 80% rate to carry your team and be Victorious. And 70% success rate to carry for a MID lane like Leblanc, Veigar, Katarina, Zed, Hemierdinger, Viktor, Diana....etc.

Be in TOP or MID Lane Every Rank Game LOL

Tutorial:
  • Click and choose TOP on PRIMARY
League of Legends Rank Que
  •  On SECONDARY choose MID
League of Legends Rank Que
  •  It should be like this
League of Legends Rank Que

How to fix Google Play Store not accessible or not working issue

How to fix Google Play Store not accessible or not working issue

This is a common issue faced by many Android users. Due to the “Google Play Store not accessible”
or “Google Play Store has stopped working” error, updating apps or installing new ones becomes almost impossible. Users get this error message as soon as they open the Google market app or Play Store. While users have resolved this issue by simply restarting their smartphone or tablet, that hasn’t worked as a long term solution as the error pops up again and again. Some have tried signing in using a different Gmail (google) account and still unable to access the Play Store. If you are getting the Play Store has stopped or not accessible error, here is the most effective fix:

  • Go to system Settings
  • Select “Apps” >> All
  • From the list, scroll down and select “Google Play Store”
  • Tap “Uninstall updates”

You have now reverted back to the original/factory version of the Play Store. The Android market app will eventually update to the latest version but this seems to resolve the issue of not being able to open Google Play app.

Another method that may resolve the Play store inaccessible error is by downloading or updating apps via Google Play Store website on your desktop. Simply open the browser on your computer and then log into Play Store using your username and password. Select the app or game you want to update/install and then select your device (Smartphone/tablet). Click “install” or “update”. The download should automatically begin.

If you are using a custom ROM, then you will need to reflash the correct GAPPs package to get rid of the "Google Play Services has stopped" error.

10 Ways to Earn Money from Your Website or Blog

10 Ways to Earn Money from Your Website or Blog

When you are running your own site and finally start to see some serious traffic, you’ll probably want to earn some money from it.
In this article we’ll look at 10 of the most popular ways to make money from your site. In each section I’ll list the big players in that specific field, but there are many more opportunities available–Google is your friend.
You’ll find that you can mix and match many of these methods. Just be careful that you don’t overcrowd your site with ads. And of course you’ll need to test to find out what works best for your site.
Let’s get started.
1. Cost-per-Click Ads
Displaying banners based on a cost-per-click basis is the easiest way to make money with a site.
Usually it’s just a matter of creating the ad banners and placing them in visible places and within the guidelines. You then get paid for each click on the ads. CPC ads come in many forms, from the traditional 468×60 banners to in-text advertising.
Google’s AdSense program made this model very popular, and it still offers the highest payouts by far. Google’s guidelines are strict though. It’s tempting to put ads right next to navigation items and gain on accidental clicks, but this can get your account banned.
You are given a percentage of the revenue made on each click, so more popular terms bring in more revenue. Earnings from CPC ads vary from a few cents to several dollars per click.
Popular CPC companies
Google AdSense
Media.net(Yahoo! and Bing ads)
InfoLinks
2. Cost-per-Mille Ads

The counterpart of CPC advertising is cost per mille. Here you are paid for each and every ad displayed, even when no one clicks.
Because advertisers don’t want to pay for ads that are hardly seen, CPM advertising has even stricter requirements than CPC when it comes to placement and site quality.
Most of the time you will also find that you have to meet minimum traffic requirements. Most companies working with publishers require 100,000 impressions a month or even more.
Once you’re accepted into an ad program, you will be getting ads from all of the major advertisers, which has the side effect of enhancing the professionalism of your site.
It’s hard to determine what you potential earnings will be. Expect to earn anywhere from $1 to $4 CPM for general topic sites, and up to $10 CPM for niche-focused sites. (Hint: Sites that are web-related always do well).
Popular CPM companies

Google AdExchange (Works mostly with partners. I recommend MonetizeMore)
BuySellAds
Exponential
3. Affiliate programs

Affiliate programs (or referral programs) are considered to be the most lucrative form of advertising for publishers. If you can match an affiliate deal with your audience, you can easily earn more than any of the other methods.
The concept behind affiliate programs is simple: You get paid for each lead or sale you refer. Some companies offer a fixed fee, while others work with a revenue share. Affiliate programs are usually offered though huge affiliate networks, which combine offers of thousands of different advertisers. Some companies, though, have their own in-house affiliate program.
How easy it is to get approved depends on the advertisers. Some companies or networks don’t have any requirements, while others want to talk with you in person and want to see a highly professional site. It mostly depends on the commission you get for each sale–higher commissions come with more requirements.
Earnings for affiliate programs are calculated as EPC, which can either be earnings per click or earnings per 100 clicks (you’ll definitely want to find out which a particular company uses when exploring your options). Targeted and well-promoted offers can bring you up to $1 for each visitor you send.
Popular affiliate networks

CJ Affiliate(Formerly known as Commission Junction)
OneNetworkDirect(Digital River)
ClickBank
4. Amazon

While it’s technically an affiliate program, the Amazon Associates program deserves special attention.
It is quite easy to get into Amazon’s program, but setting it up properly requires some time and dedication. Amazon offers many ways of promoting their products, from simple links to fullblown stores that integration via their API, like this).
The commissions Amazon pays are fairly low–they range from 4% to 10%–but the great thing is that they pay you on anythinga customer orders after using your affiliate link. This means that you can send a visitor to Amazon for a simple war movie (like I do) and end up earning a commission for a purchased TV as well.
Amazon is also available in multiple countries, but you’ll need to sign up for each country independently.
Amazon Associates (US)
Amazon Associates (UK)
5. Fixed price

If you don’t want to worry too much about how your ads are performing you might want to consider selling them at a fixed price.
With this method you don’t sell clicks or impressions. Instead, you’re basically just renting out ad space on your site for a weekly or monthly fee. The price is determined based on the quality of your site and its traffic, but it doesn’t fluctuate as much as the other methods.
You can sell fixed price advertising directly or use an advertising network to do it. The downside of the latter is that you will be paying a hefty fee on each ad sale.
Revenue with fixed price advertising is generally lower than with the CPM model, since there is less competition. Another downside: If your traffic explodes while a deal is in place, you won’t get paid for the additional impressions.
Fixed price ads are good way of earning a steady recurring income without too much hassle though.
Popular fixed price advertising companies

BuySellAds
iSocket(formerly BuyAds)
AdEngage
6. Pop-ups and pop-unders

Yes, these still work! While most people find popups annoying, they’re still a lucrative way for advertisers to make money. And that means you can use them to make money as a publisher, too.
Pop-ups and pop-unders are perfect for sites with high visitor numbers but low engagement. If your visitors aren’t clicking any of your ads while on your site, you might as well earn on them when they enter or leave.
Revenue from this type of ads is quite low–earnings are often just pennies per thousands impressions. Still, if you got hundreds of thousands visitor per month if could add up to some nice numbers.
Popular pop-up advertising companies

Advertise.com
PopAds
MediaTraffic
7. Sponsored content

Also called advertorials, sponsored content is a great way of adding valuable content to your site while earning some money in the process.
With sponsored content, advertisers write posts on the topic your site covers to show their expertise and build their brand.
It’s also a great way of doing a sponsored giveaway together with an advertiser (so you can feel a bit like Oprah).
Sponsored content is often confused with paid links, where an advertiser is pays solely for link placement. Paid links can get you in trouble with Google, and there’s a fine line between sponsored content and paid links. A good rule of thumb here is that your audience should value the content and learn something from it. It’s the content that matters, not so much the actual link to the paying advertiser.
Selling sponsored content can best be done by yourself, since most networks are easily abused for link building. Depending on your traffic you can charge anywhere from $50 to thousands of dollars per post.
8. Related posts

Selling related posts is a relatively new way of earning money. Instead of linking to related posts within your own site, you can link to paid posts, usually on a CPC basis. In most cases you use a plugin which combines your own related posts with paid ones.
Related posts are usually placed underneath each article, and when a reader gets that far they are usually very much engaged and interested in what you have to offer. Because of this high engagement level, selling related posts can turn into a nice income.
To qualify for related post advertising, you’ll need to have a high quality site and high levels of traffic.
You may still be better off using that space for a higher paying affiliate ad, since the reader’s engagement at this point is worth serious money. Testing is key.
Popular related post advertising companies

Disqus
Outbrain
Taboola
9. Email advertising

When you run a popular newsletter you can sell space in your emails as well as on your website.
You can charge a one-time fee or promote affiliate deals. If you go the affiliate route, make sure the program allows for email advertising, especially when working with networks.
When you have a few thousands targeted subscribers, it is possible to earn a few hundred dollars on each mailing. Professional newsletter tools allow for excellent split-testing so you can easily try out what works best.
Ads in newsletters are mostly sold directly to advertisers, while for affiliate deals you can use the companies listed above.
10. Selling your site

The ultimate form of monetizing of your site is selling it. If you managed to successfully implement one or more of the strategies above, your site might be worth quite a lot of money.
While selling your site puts money in the bank, there are other benefits as well. You can stop worrying about your traffic and ad performance. It also frees up your time which you can use for other projects.
The main problem with selling your site is deciding when to do it. Sell too soon and you might be leaving money on the table, sell too late and you will receive less money than you like. Especially with websites revenue can be very volatile, so it will always be a gamble. General rule is to sell when your website’s income stabilizes for a few months.
You can sell your site directly to a buyer or use a marketplace or agency for it. The latter will charge you a commission but will mostly do all the work for you.
Sale prices vary widely, from a few thousand dollars to well into the six figures and beyond.

How to clear remove or change default apps in Android

How to clear remove or change default apps in Android

Many people accidentally set some app to open by default in Android. When that happens each time you try to open something that default app is going to open it automatically. For example people might have multiple browsers , video players , picture apps , alarm apps and reading apps installed. Each time u try to open a certain app your operating system is going to check which apps have the permission to handle it and then it gives you a list of apps you can either select to open once or always. If you select "always open" then you will set that app as a default app.  So how to change your default browser, default gallery, default reading app, default picture viewer app etc. First you will have to remove or clear defaults app settings and then set a new app as default. Here are the steps to remove or change default permission from Android app:

How to change default apps in Android

How to turn your laptop into a Wi Fi hotspot or temporary router – Windows 10

How to turn your laptop into a Wi Fi hotspot or temporary router – Windows 10

Here is the story of why I wanted to turn my laptop into a Wi-Fi hotspot or a temporary router: Last week we had a big thunderstorm and a lightning seems to have struck our cable internet. This fried the WAN port of my router and the DSL port was no longer blinking green to show a working internet connection. All of the LAN ports were working fine but I didn’t have enough Ethernet cable lying around to connect all of my home computers. So I decided to do learn how to broadcast Wi-Fi from my laptop to other devices or how to setup my laptop to work as a router. You have probably heard of wi-fi hotspots on smartphones and the same features is available on laptops with Wi-Fi or WLAN cards. While using a laptop as Wireless Access Point is not as effective as a router, it will come handy on situations where you only have an Ethernet cable and you want to share Wi-Fi to other devices on the floor. Here are steps to enable Wi-Fi hotspot on Windows Laptops or desktops connected to a DSL broadband connection:

Note: I am assuming you have a normal broadband internet cable connection. Connect the Internet cable (with RJ-45 connector) to your Laptop or Desktop PC’s Ethernet port. Now you should see green or yellow light blinking on the Ethernet port indicating successful connection

Before you setup the Wi-Fi hotspot you need to setup your broadband internet connection: Read: How to setup Broadband cable Internet connection on Windows PC

Now follow these steps to setup your laptop’s wi-fi hotspot

  1. Press windows key + X >> Select “Command Prompt (Admin)”
    • Alternatively, press Windows and type “cmd” >> Right Click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator”
  2. Now in the Command Prompt, type: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=networkname key=password
    • (Replace “networkname” with any name and “password” with a password of your choice for your laptop Wi-Fi hotspot)
  3. Now type: netsh wlan start hostednetwork
  4. Now your hosted network will start but you will have to tweak some settings before accessing the internet
  5. Press Windows key and type “network connections” >> select “view network connections”
  6. Right click on the your active broadband connection and click “properties”
  7. Go to “Sharing” tab and click the check box to “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection.”
  8. From the drop down select the newly created hosted connection (it could be named something like this- “Local Area Connection *12) >> Click Ok
