If you are a movie or anime enthusiast, you’ve probably encountered the message saying “Building font cache” on VLC Player while playing an MKV or MP4 video. Then you see a progress bar that seems to get suck in 0% or 1%. While the pop up says “Please wait while your font cache is rebuilt. This should take less than a minute”, if you have a basic PC or laptop, the rebuilding process can take more than five minutes and in rare cases the VLC player itself will stop responding and you have to force close it. It can be very irritating when you have to unnecessarily wait for VLC to start playing your video files. The good thing is you can easily fix this irritating video playback delay by simple changing a settings option on VLC media Player.

How to stop building font cache in VLC Player on a Windows PC

The building font cache dialogue box appears on VLC Player while playing video files with embedded subtitles displayed at the bottom. Here is how you can disable font cache building on VLC Player:

• Open VLC Player
• Go to Tools >> Preferences
• On the bottom left, you will see “Show Settings” >> select “All”
• Now, go to Video >> Subtitles/OSD
• On the right, you will see “Text Rendering Module”
• Select “Dummy font renderer” from the drop down menu

After completing above steps, the “building font cache” dialogue message will stop displaying while playing video files. In case your VLC Player hangs up during the cache building process, you may have to delete the temporary app data. To fix this issue:

• Press windows key + r (to bring up “run” box)
• or simply press windows key and type “run” in windows search
• Type %appdata%
• Find the VLC folder and delete it

After deleting the VLC app data folder, VLC will build font cache from scratch and won’t freeze up this time.

To conclude, always make sure your VLC player is up to date. For this, open VLC Player >> go to “Help” >> Select “Check for Updates”. The latest version of VLC has cleared many bugs and improved video performance for different file formats inclyding .mkv. .mov, .mp4, .dat and .mpeg.

VLC is the favorite media player of many users but it seems to hate Intel Atom based netbooks and HD videos really stutter and skip frames while running VLC on such devices. Netbooks are primarily meant for lightweight tasks so they come with only basic hardware that can hardly handle any type of intensive tasks including HD video playback. A netbook running Windows 7 Starter with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM will be very slow for multitasking and web browsing with multiple tabs. If you want to do some multitasking then there is no other option than to upgrade the RAM of your netbook but if you just want to be able to play HD 1080p or 720p video files (mkv, mp4 etc) without lag, choppiness or skipping, then there are a few tricks you can apply. There are other alternatives to VLC that will actually resolve this issue in an instance but if you are bent on using VLC then apply the following tricks on your beloved Netbook:

How to speed up HD Video playback on VLC Player on a Netbook

• Go to Preferences >> On the button
• Under Input codecs expand “video codecs” and select “FFmpeg”
• Now on the right a bunch of options will appear
• Check “Allow speed tricks” option
• For Skip loop filter for H.264 select “All” from the drop down menu
• For Hardware Decoding select “Disable”
• Now Save your changes

In most cases the videos should now run smoothly but in some really old devices you may still experience some lag. If you are still unable to play your MKV files properly, then install Media Player Classic on your Netbook. MPC-HC is a very lightweight media player and it supports most of the video formats just like VLC and plays 720p & 1080p videos easily

If the video is choppy even on MPC-HC player, I am guessing you have only 1GB or less of RAM in your netbook or mini PC. Upgrade to 2GB memory and you will notice improvement in video performance. Your netbook might also be slow because your operating system have been corrupted or affected by malware or viruses. So install an antivirus software and run a full scan. If you’re running Windows 7 Starter then I suggest installing the full Windows 7 Home or Ultimate and then switch to classic Windows theme.

On my old Samsung NP-102S netbook I’ve installed a lightweight Ubuntu OS called Lubuntu. While it doesn’t support windows applications or advanced features of Windows 7, Lubuntu runs really fast even on an underpowered netbook. I suggest installing Lubuntu or Xubuntu if your primary use involves watching YouTube videos, web browsing and document editing.

If you have the latest version (1.8 or later) of MX Player, it wont support DTS or Dolby audio coded. This means video files with ac3,eac3,dts,mlp format audio files will not be supported by MX Player. While trying to play such video files the video will appear with no audio, giving an error "The audio format(AC3)is not supported. To fix this AC3 error in MX Player, you will either need to install a different video player app or install a custom codec in MX Player. The former is a faster and easier solution but the latter is necessary if you want to stick with MX Player. Here are the methods to fix this issue:

How to fix AC3 Format Error in MX Player

Method 1. Installing custom codec in MX Player

• Download All In One custom codec pack from XDA 
• Save the AIO codec zip file in the root directory (main location) of your device
• Open MX Player app 
• Go to Settings >>  Decoder >> Custom Codec 
• Browse to the folder where the zip file is located and select it. 
• MX Player will automatically load the right codec from the AIO zip file
• Go to Help >> About 
• Check whether the new custom codec is loaded or not
• Now open the video file and you should get the audio back with no AC3 format error.

Method 2: Install a different video player app from Play Store

If method 1 didnt work, your other option is to install a different video player app. There are several reliable video player in the Google Play Store. VLC Player is one of such apps and it supports AC3 format audio files.  So you can use VLC app as an alternatice to MX Player.

3. Pada lingkaran merah nomor 1 yaitu Choose skin,dengan maksud memilih skin yang sobat

anggap bagus dengan cara klik pada tombol bulat bagian kanan jika sudah langsung klik next.

    

5. setelah kita selesai melakukan langkah diatas kini giliran pengaturan lagu lagu yang akan sobat pilih,pada tombol bulat di bawah kata Edit palylist pilih manual palylist.

6. Isi kolom song title dengan judul lagu dan song url dengan link musik yang sobat sukai.

    Untuk pemilihan song url bisa sobat putar di youtube lagu kesukaan sobat kemudian copy

    link nya dan masukan pada bagian  song url,jika sudah langsung klik next.

7. langkah beikutnya yaitu pengaturan Confugurasi seting.Untuk pengaturannya Ikuti saja

    seperti yang tertera pada gambar di bawah ini,jika sudah langsung saja klik done.

8. Copy semau script yang nampak pada kotak.

Seting SCM Musik Player kita sudah selesai kini waktunya kita pasang pada blog sobat,

adapun langkah langkah nya sebagai beikut.

1. Login akun blog sobat.

2. Masuk ke bagian menu Tata Letak dan klik Tambah gadget.

3. Pilih menu HTML/Javascript.

4. Pastekan script yang tadi sobat copy pada waktu melakukan seting musik player pada kotak 

    konten.lalu klik tombol save/simpan.

5. Selesai.
