To Remove Microsoft annoying Windows 10 upgrade notification

To Remove Microsoft annoying Windows 10 upgrade notification

Microsoft is removing its annoying upgrade notification soon!. The software giant is planning to remove its Get Windows 10 app from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs after July 29th.

Even weather forecasts arent safe from Windows 10 upgrade prompts. Microsofts aggressively nagging Windows 10 upgrade prompts claimed another victim on Wednesday morning. KCCI 8 News Meteorologist Metinka Slater was just trying to tell us the weather in southwest Iowa, but Windows 10 had other ideas. A giant Windows 10 upgrade prompt appeared, heading east towards Omaha and Red Oak and looking like the worst snow storm on record.

Microsoft confirmed yesterday that the company is planning to end its free Windows 10 upgrade offer on July 29th, and in a statement to WinBeta it has revealed the annoying upgrade notification will be disabled after July 29th:

"Details are still being finalized, but on July 29th the Get Windows 10 app that facilitates the easy upgrade to Windows 10 will be disabled and eventually removed from PCs worldwide. Just as it took time to ramp up and roll out the Get Windows 10 app, it will take time to ramp it down."

For Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users who have resisted the move to Windows 10 it means the upgrade prompts will disappear. Third-party apps have allowed many to disable the notifications, and system administrators can kill the process for business machines. A giant Windows 10 upgrade prompt appeared during a weather forecast last week, providing some unusual comedy.

Try not to laugh or grin while watching this Microsoft Windows 10 free download update interrupt weather news blooper. Can you say Microsoft Windows 10 tutorial for this newscaster?

Slater was quick to switch feeds and rid Iowa of the Windows 10 UFO, narrowly avoiding state-wide panic over the Windows-related weather conditions. "Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10, what should I do? Dont you love when that pops up!" Slater joked sarcastically. And thats precisely the point, everyone hates these damn notifications. Microsoft has been aggressively pushing Windows 10 out to existing Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines in a bid to reach its 1 billion devices goal, but this prompt is slowly turning into the new Blue Screen of Death.

Microsoft will end its free upgrade offer for Windows 10 on July 29th, but the company still has time left to reverse that decision. If the upgrade promotion does get extended, its likely that the Windows 10 notifications will continue, but for now Microsoft is saying the notifications will end on July 29th.

Restricted Access Changed Service blocked notification error Solutions

Restricted Access Changed Service blocked notification error Solutions

The Restricted Access Changed Emergency service is blocked is a notification messages that commonly appears on Moto X, Moto G and Nexus phones. The alert message constantly appears in the notification slider and then disappears. This is not an Android bug or hardware error, but a simple message of the emergency call feature on your phone. While this is a totally harmless message, it does get annoying and frustrating when the “Restricted access changed” data service is blocked or voice service is blocked message always appears on the notification.

So, is there a fix for this notification message? No. This is just a built-in message so there is no need to worry unless you are unable to send SMS or receive calls. If that’s the case, a simple reboot might fix the SMS and call issues. This error message may also occur if you have a faulty Sim card or you swap different sim cards multiple times a day. The message also pops up when you change networks i.e. from 2g to 3g or 3g to 4g and vice versa. And it mainly appears while using mobile data and disappears while connected to Wi-Fi networks. Turning off or switching from 3G to 2G seems to have fixed the problem for some but that really isn’t a fix if you’re trying to use fast mobile data connection.

How to fix Restricted Access Changed notification error on Android phones

Method 1: Blocking Phone notification using third party app

Before you do this, check if your Android device has a built-in feature to disable notifications. This feature may be available in Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating systems, but some systems may not give access to the “phone” app. Go to settings >> sounds and notifications >> Apps >> Scroll down and tap on “Phone” and disable notification. If your phone doesn’t have that feature, it’s time to give some third party apps a try.

If you Android phone is rooted, there is a fix. You can download apps that can block “Restricted access changed” notification.

  • Download Notification blocker app like this one: Notify Block
  • Open the app >> You will be asked to grant notification access >> Tap “OK”
  • Now on the app uncheck “Hide System Apps”
  • Scroll down and tap on “Phone” (com.android.phone)

Now reboot device and see if the error still persists. Within the notify blocker app, you may find several “Phone” icons. If the above steps didn’t work, try disabling notifications for each of the “Phone” icons on the list.

Method 2: For rooted Devices: Install Notification cleaner app

For this you will need to root your Android and also install Xposed framework. Most rooters will know how to do this.
  • Install Notify Clean and open it
  • Scroll down and tap “Phone”
  • Tap on “Restricted access changed”
  • Now reboot device and the phone notification will be blocked
