Have you noticed that your smartphone’s screen is slightly yellower than normal i.e. the whites look yellowish or too warm. Many people won’t notice this pale Yellow display problem unless they put their smartphone or tablet side-by-side with another device and compare the white levels of the screen. Even the latest Nexus 6p and Nexus 5x has been affected by this problem. While many people are perfectly fine with the yellowish or warmer tone of their IPS or AMOLED displays, some prefer the cooler or more natural color temperature on their device screen. If your screen is too yellow you can remove this excess yellow color by customizing the color temperatures to your preference via screen filter apps.

Many Android devices have built-in display temperature app that allows users to customize the Red Green Blue (RGB) color values. If your phone or tablet has such a feature, simply increase the value of “Blue” color until you get rid of the annoying yellow tint. If such feature is not available, you can install third party color customizer or screen adjuster/filter apps available in Google Play Store. One such app is “screen adjuster”.

• Download screen adjuster app (free on Google Play)
• Open the app and then set the value for “Blue” color to 8 or 9.
  
• You may need to set it higher depending upon how yellow your display is.
• Tap on “Adjuster On”
  
• Also enable “Autorun” option at the bottom
  

Now your device display will look less yellow and more cool or bluer. ON the plus side you can keep the screen filter app on all the time because it does not seem to affect battery life at all.

NOTE: Installing screen filter apps may prevent third party app installation by disabling the “install” button. Thus, disable the screen filter before you install any APK files. You can turn the filter back on after installation.

How to fix error 501 on Google Play Store during download or installation

Due to error 501 in Google Play Store Android users can’t install, download or update many apps and games on their Android phones or tablets. This problem is caused most of the time if you have multiple apps installations going on in the Play Store. In such case, cancel all the app installations and download them one by one. If you are a custom ROM user, you may get the 501 error code while updating Google Play Services. This is caused because you flashed an incompatible Gapps package or a buggy OS. In such a case, reflashing the OS + Gapps package could be the solution. In my case, the Google Play Store error code –501 popped up while installing an app update. Here are all the possible methods to fix Android error 501 in Google Play:

Android Fix: Google Play Error Code: -501

Method 1: Reinstall

Simply cancel the installation process and try installing the app or game. If that didn’t fix it, uninstall the app/game completely and download it again from Google Play Store.

Method 2: Uninstall updates for Google play Services

This method will probably solve error 501 message while updating Google Play apps like Google Play Services, Google +, Google Play Games, YouTube, Gmail and so on.

• Go to Settings >> Apps >> All
• Scroll and select “Google Play Services”
• Tap “Uninstall updates” and “clear data”
• Also,  select "Google Play Store" and tap "Uninstall updates"
• Again, go to Apps >> All >> select “Google Service framework”
• Tap “Clear Data”
• Open Google Play and download or update an app

Method 3: Resetting App preferences

Resetting app preferences will restore default settings for your apps. This won’t delete any data from your Android device.

• Go to settings >> Apps
• Press menu or the three dots on the top right
• Select “Reset app preferences” >> Tap “OK”

Method 4: For custom ROM users (Cyanogenmod, Paranoid Android, SlimROM etc)

First try reflashing your OS and then a compatible GAPPs package. Go to recovery and wipe cache partition. See if that solved the 501 error in Google Play. If that didn’t work, you will need to entirely wipe the device (factory reset) and then run a fresh installation. For the fresh reinstallation try a different ROM and a new Gapps package. Reboot into recovery and proceed to flash the new zip files. That will almost certainly fix the 501 error message while updating Google Play Services.

A top Thai medical college has caught students using spy cameras linked to smartwatches to cheat during exams in what some social media users have compared to a plot straight out of a Mission: Impossible movie.

Arthit Ourairat, the rector of Rangsit University, posted pictures of the hi-tech cheating equipment on his Facebook page, announcing that the entrance exam in question had been cancelled after the plot was discovered.

Three students used glasses with wireless cameras embedded in their frames to transmit images to a group of as yet unnamed people, who then sent the answers to the smartwatches.

Mr Arthit said the trio had paid 800,000 baht ($31,000) each to the tutor group for the equipment and the answers.

"We want this to be known in public to make people aware that we must be careful, particularly for medical exams where there is high demand among students but not many vacancies," Mr Arthit told the network.

His original post went viral, with many either praising the students for their ingenuity or condemning them for cheating.

"If they had passed and graduated, we might have had illegal doctors working for us," wrote one Facebook user.

Others were more impressed. "Cool ... like Hollywood or Mission: Impossible," another user wrote.
Medical degrees are highly sought after in Thailand, where doctors can make small fortunes in a private sector that has become one of the worlds treatment hubs.

Despite more than a decade of impressive economic growth, Thailands education system is in dire need of reform with rote learning, long hours and poor international test scores still commonplace.

In the 2014 PISA rankings, which measures global educational standards, Thai students performed below the global average and much worse than those from poorer Vietnam in subjects like maths and science.

Last year, the World Bank said improving poor quality education was the most important step the kingdom could take to securing a better future, with one third of Thai 15-year-olds "functionally illiterate" — lacking the basic reading skills to manage their lives in the modern world.

Critics say the kingdoms high corruption levels and ongoing political instability has made deep-seated education reforms impossible over the last decade.

This is the most common approach to fix Android error messages and error codes during app installation in Google Play Store.

1. Go to Settings >> Apps >> All
2. Scroll down and select "Google Play Store"
• Select "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data"
3. Scroll down and select "Google Services Framework"
• Select "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data"
4. Now open Google Play Store and update or install your app (or game)

Solution 3: For Custom ROM users
Custom ROM users use a "recovery" menu to flash new ROMs (operating systems) or other additional software tweaks via zip files. People who use customized Android OSs like Cyanogenmod are tech savvy and they will know what the below steps are, but newbie flashers may need to do som research. 

• Turn off your phone and boot into recovery
• Search online for the proper button combination to enter recovery mode
• Use volume keys for highlighting menu options
• Select "wipe cache partition" 
• Optionally, go to advanced menu and select "wipe dalvik cache"
• Reboot system
• Open Google Play Store and Download your app 

Solution 4: Formatting SD Card

If you are running custom ROM on your rooted Android device, then you can probably install APps to SD. When you have a corrupt SD Card and try you install apps (games) in it, you can get error 492. Format your SD Card or run on a disk check to find and solve system file errors. To check for errors, connect your device to your PC or simply take out the SD Card and insert it into your PC. Then right click on the removable storage and click Properties. Go to Tools >> Click "Check". You might have to replace your SD Card if it has lots of bad sectors.

The release data of Mi Band 2 hasnt been confirmed but we expect it to be announced next month when Xiaomi is releasing its flagship phablet.

The Mi Band is a $15-$18 fitness tracker manufactured by Xiaomi. The Mi Band gained wide popularity due to its insanely affordable price and features comparable to many fitness trackers that cost well over $50. The currently available Mi Band 1S or Mi Band Pulse has features like heart rate monitor, sleep tracker and step counter. Lacking an LCD display, the original Mi Band uses three LEDs to indicate daily step goal progress. It also vibrates while receiving calls or app notifications. The first Mi Band used multicolored LEDs, which could be customized for different types of notifications.

You should now be able to browse the internet. If you get connection failed error 651 or error 619, it means you have input wrong username and’;’p password

First of all don’t freak out because the screen going completely black is a Lollipop bug, meaning it’s just a software glitch and not a serious hardware flaw. So what this bug does is it turns your display completely blank when you set the brightness to its minimum value using the brightness slider in the quick access menu. This mostly occurs only if you have your adaptive brightness enabled on the display settings. Your Android phone or tablet is not screwed it’s just that it’s stuck in 0 brightness setting. This bug has probably been addressed in the latest Lollipop version so you may not get this error if you have the latest Lollipop 5.1.1 version. But if you’ve just experienced this problem try the below methods to turn your display back on- to fix completely dark screen on Android Lollipop after setting the brightness to zero or minimum :

Method 1: Sliding the brightness level back to full while display is still dark

This method is a guessing game. You won’t see anything on your screen but your screen will still be on so you’ll be able to access the quick settings my swiping down. After which you will have to guess the location of the brightness slider and then start tapping from middle of the screen to the right. If you get it wrong at first, press the sleep button and again turn your screen on and repeat the steps until you get it right. I managed to get the brightness back on in first try.

1. If you think your screen has gone to sleep. Press the power button.
2. Swipe down (this will open the quick settings along with the brightness slider but you won’t see it yet) 
3.  Count three rows down from the top of your screen using your finger tip and slide your finger to the middle of the screen and start tapping to the right. When your finger tip catches the brightness slider, you will get your screen back. The slider is at the middle about 30% below the top of your screen. 
4. Now Go to Settings >> Display >> Disable “Adaptive brightness” 

Method 2: Use ADB for resetting brightness

This method uses the ADB tool of Android SDK to set the brightness level for your tablet or
smartphone. For this you will need to download and install or extract the Android SDK Tools for your Windows PC or Mac. Inside the Android SDK tools folder you will find Platform Tools folder where your will have the ADB

Things you will need to do first:

• Download and install Android SDK Tools where you will find the ADB tool inside Platform folder Make sure USB debugging is turned on by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable “USB debugging” 
• Make sure that your Android device’s USB drivers is installed on your PC or Mac 
• Simply connect your Android device (USB debugging enabled) to your PC/Mac and it should download the USB drivers automatically from the internet. Or, you can manually download it from your device manufacturer’s website
• If you can’t find developer’s options, go to Settings >>About Tablet/Phone >> Continuously tap on the Build number till you get a notification saying developer options have been enabled. 

Here are the steps to set the brightness using the ADB tool

1. Connect your USB debugging enabled device to your PC/Mac
2. Start command line (On windows, press start key and then type “cmd” ) 
3. Inside cmd window, enter the location(directory) where adb.exe is placed a. In Windows cmd, you can enter a folder by typing CD followed by the folder name 
4. Now run this command to set the new brightness level-  adb shell settings put system screen_brightness 200 
5. Your brightness level should now be set to maximum and your screen should be visible 
6. Now Go to Settings >> Display >> Disable “Adaptive brightness”.

 I hope the above methods helped you get back your totally blank (dark) screen in Android Lollipop. Do not turn on the adaptive brightness unless you’ve received the latest Android Lollipop update.

After the latest update my Google Now stopped working and gave me this error- your account is not eligible for Google now. The issue I had was that I couldn’t use the Google Now voice search (Ok Google) feature after the update. Before the latest update, I had Google Now cards disabled but I could use the voice command feature to give commands for opening apps, setting reminders, getting directions, settings alarms, scheduling meetings etc. So to get this Google voice search to work, I simply uninstalled the updates but you may have better use for the Google card feature of Google. So I searched some forums for possible fixes or solutions to get the Cards working. Read below about how to fix your account is not eligible for Google now on Android:

Method to get just the "OK Google" Voice command working:

If you don’t need Google cards but want the Voice search to work. This works if your voice search was already working prior to the latest Google Now update. For this you’ll simply have to uninstall updates for Google Now so that you get the original version back.

• Go to Settings >> Apps >> Swipe and select “All”
• From “All” apps list, Select “Google apps” >> Uninstall updates
• Now go back and open Google search, and your “Ok Google” voice command should be working. Try commands like “set reminder…, what’s the weather like today, when was …. Born etc.. It should all work.

Possible fix to get Google Now Cards as well as Google Search ‘OK Google’ command working:

It seems Google has disabled Google Cards feature for many countries so Google Now won’t work everywhere. The below steps was recommended by various users and have worked for many who want to get the Google Cards working in Google Now. However, just like any other “Google Fix”, this is not a sure-fix for “your account is not eligible for google now” error but you can certainly give it a try:

Method 1: How to activate Google Now Cards (Posted on NexusHelp Forum)

On your browser do the following:

1. Log into Google Apps Admin page 
2. At the bottom, click More controls >> Select Other Google services;
3. From Google services >>Select Filter icon on the top right >> Uncheck Show top featured services; find service called Location history and enable it (I did for all users); 

On your Android smartphone or tablet do the following:

1. Go to system Settings >> Accounts >> Location >> Google Location Reporting >> Enable all options
2. Go to system Settings >> Apps >> All >> Select “Google Apps” >> Search & Now>> Accounts and privacy
3. Select Google Account >> Log out 
4. Repeat the above steps and this time log in to your account

Method 2: Solution for this account is not eligible to use google now [from XDA forum] 

Note: This method involves hard reset so first make sure to backup all your apps, photos, videos, music etc.

1. Switch off your Android device. 
2. Take your sim-card, memory card etc out 
3. Go to settings and do a factory reset (Hard reset) 
4. Now your device will reboot 
5. On the initial setup, skip Wi-Fi settings and everything 
6.  Go to settings >> Location >> Turn it “Off” 
7. Turn on Wi-Fi >> Use VPN bestukvpn or OneclickVPN 
8. Activate Google Now add login Your Gmail account in the settings

Alternative Method 2 to active Google Now Cards without factory reset 

1. Take your sim-card, memory card etc out 
2. Go to Settings >> Accounts >> Search >> Accounts & Privacy >> Google account >> Sign out 
3. Go to Settings >> Apps >> All >> Select “Google Play Services” >> Uninstall Updates and Delete Data 
4. Connect to a VPN bestukvpn or OneclickVPN 
5. Open Google Now and Select to "opt in" 
6. Now go through the steps to activate Google Now 
7. You will get the "This account is not eligible to use Google now" on Google Search, just search for something 
8. From Google Search, Slide from left and sign in to your Google Account 
9. You should get the option to “opt in to Google Now”.

Method 3: How to enable Google Now Cards (didn’t work for me)

1. Reboot device 
2. Go to Settings >> Apps >> Search >> Accounts and Privacy >>Google Account>> Select “Sign out” Go back to Settings >> Apps >> All >> Select “Google Play Services” from the list 
3. Click “Disable” >> You will prompted to uninstall updates >> Accept >> If you’re prompted to disable android device manager, do it. 
4.  Now you should be able to Disable Google Play Services. 
5. Got to Settings >> Accounts >> Search >>Accounts & Privacy >> Google Account >> Choose your Gmail 
6. You will be prompted to enable Google Play Services >> Enable it 
7. Update Google Play Services and Enable Android Device Manager

This enables Poweramp to quickly scan for any new music files only in the selected folders. Unlock Code Instructions for BlackBerry Cell Phones for All Networks

In this guide I will show you how to enter unlock codes into your BlackBerry cell phone so that it will be unlocked from your current provider such as SUN,SMART, GLOBE. etc.

First you need an unlock code of course. If you dont have an unlock code yet, you can get/request here


 
No cable or software needed! Just enter the code that you will receive and youll have an unlocked BlackBerry cell phone! Unlocking by entering a code on your phones keypad is called "Unlock by IMEI". Indeed, it is the most convenient way to unlock your cell phone.

Below are instructions that work for most network providers. Some unlock codes, such as those for T-Mobile locked cell phones, have to be entered differently and are shown at the end.



How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry 8800 and 8800 Pearl:

• You must have a SIM card in your phone to complete these steps (can be active or inactive)
• Go to settings menu => and then Options.
• Select Advanced options => and then Sim card
• Type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
• Hold the ALT Key while typing in MEPE on your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
• You should be presented with a prompt "Enter Network MEP Code". Type in the 16 or 8 digit unlock code and press in the track wheel / jog dial to confirm
• Your phone is now unlocked

How to Enter Unlock Codes on T-Mobile BlackBerry 8230 Curve:

• Press the Menu key.
• Scroll to and select Manage Connections.
• Select Turn All Connections Off.
• Press the red end key or the Escape key to go back to the Home screen
• Scroll to and select the Options icon.
• Scroll to and select Advanced Options.
• Scroll to and select SIM Card.
• Type MEPD Note: When typing in MEPD the letters will not appear on the screen. This step opens up the personalization on the device.
• Hold down the Alt key and type in MEP2. Note: When typing in MEP2 the letters/number will not appear on the screen. This Step opens up the Enter Network MEP code box.
• Enter the unlock code.
• Press the trackball (code accepted should display).
• Press and hold the red End key to turn the handheld off and then back on.
• Once the device has powered on, follow steps 1 & 2 and select Restore Connections.

How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry Curve:

You must have a SIM card in your phone to complete these steps, I have found that this procedure works best with an AT&T or Cingular Sim card in the phone (can be active or inactive ). Make sure the phone is not displaying the low battery warning!

• Power on
• Go to settings
• Go to advanced options
• Go to sim card
• Type MEPD
• Type MEP[Alt + 2] (all this with either a cingular or ATT SIM inside)
• It will ask you for the unlock code

How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry 8100 and 8100 Pearl:

• Go to Options Menu => Advanced Options
• In the SIM Card menu, hold down the shift (right of the zero, cap) press meppd
• Youll see the unlocking level screen there you hold the ALT key (left side below @) type mepp2 (*You wont see any text while you are typing either one of these.)
• Type in the 16 or 8 digit unlock code.

or

• Insert SIM into device
• Power phone on and Turn off the radio (Turn Wireless Off option) VERY IMPORTANT.
• Select "Options" THEN SELECT ADVANCED OPTIONS
• Scroll down and select "SIM Card"
• Type "MEPPD" (please note that you will not see what you type on the screen)
• Type "MEPP then [ALT BUTTON] then "2" (please note that you will not see what you type on the screen)
• Enter the Unlock Code
• Press enter
• Reboot device. Device is now unlocked.

How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry 8700 and 8700c:

You must have a SIM card in your phone to complete these steps, I have found that this procedure works best with an AT&T or Cingular Sim card in the phone (can be active or inactive ). Make sure the phone is not displaying the low battery warning!

• Go to settings
• Go to options
• Go to advanced options
• Go to sim card
• Type MEPD (not case sensitive) (you will not see text appear on screen while typing)

• It will say "Enter Network MEP Code, Type in the 16 or 8 digit unlock code and press in the jog dial to confirm.
• Your phone is now unlocked

How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry 7100 (7100v etc):

Warning! The Wireless Mode MUST BE OFF before performing the given SIM Unlock instructions in order to avoid causing the device from becoming defective.
How to turn Wireless Mode Off:

• Scroll to the Airplane Icon (Turn Wireless Off.)
• Press Select.
• Wireless Mode will turn off.
• REMOVE the SIM card
• Power On the Device (Put the Battery back in)

How to SIM Unlock the device:

• Go to the "Tools" screen
• Select "Settings"
• Select the "SIM Card" option
• Type MEPPD
• It should then display a list "SIM, Network, Network Subset, etc..."
• To select "Network" type MEPP Alt-2
• It should then ask for the code
• Enter the unlock code

How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry 6xxx 7xxx: ie 6230, 7100, 7290 etc.:

• Select Options menu on BB.
• Now you select SIM CARD menu. To be able to see this you have to type this on the keypad on phone : (TEXT WILL NOT APPEAR ON THE SCREEN until you enter the unlock code)
• Type MEPD for all models except 7100 in which case in case use MEPPD.
• Usually you should see "active" NET lock. Now in order to disable this lock type MEP2 respectively MEPP2 if phone is 7100 and will appear a dialog asking for code. NOTE: You must use the "alt" or "shift" key to enable numbers so example would be: m-e-p-"alt key"-2.
• Now you should see the place to enter your net unlock code. (if not, you didnt type in mep2 or mepp2 properly.)
• Here you must enter the "NET Unlock Code" that the bb unlocker showed you and hit return.

How to Enter Unlock Codes on T-Mobile BlackBerry Cell Phones:

• On the Home screen, click the Tools icon. The Options screen appears.
• In the tools screen, select the Settings icon.
• Scroll to SIM Card and select it. You should see the phone number and the SIM ID number.
• Type ‘mepd’ to display the first five levels of SIM locking.
• T-Mobile uses network locking so the Network should display Active. All other states should display Disabled. Please note: For the Blackberry 7100t you will hit the “P” twice when entering the ‘mepd’ and ‘mep2? for steps 4 & 5.
• Type ‘mep2? to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code (Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2)
• Input the Network Unlock code
• Press ENTER and reboot handheld.

How to Enter Unlock Codes on T-Mobile BlackBerry 8100 Cell Phones (alternative instructions if above instructions do not work):

• Can be done without a sim card inserted.
• While on the home screen, click the “blackberry key” on keyboard, then select “options”.
• Choose “Advanced Options”.
• Select “Sim Card”
• There is no area to type these letters, you just type them as instructed. No need to hit keys twice to get a letter either. Type meppd to display the first five levels of SIM locking. Most companies use network locking so the Network should display Active. All other states should display Disabled (you will not see text appear on screen while typing)
• Type mepp2 to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code (Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )
• Input the SIM Unlock code
• Press in the trackball once
