How to Fix App could not be downloaded due to error 400

The app could not be downloaded due to an error 400 is a Google Play Store Error affecting Android smartphones. Another format of this error is something like this- Unknown error code during application install 400. This issue is caused when you try to update or download app on a slow internet connection (Mobile Data or Wi-Fi). So make sure you have a working internet connection.  In my case, the error was resolved automatically on second try. If you are still getting the error while updating or installing apps in Google Play, try these quick methods to fix Google Play Error 400:

How to Fix Installation-Update Error 400 in Google Play

Method 1: Cancel download and re-install

This is a simple method.  Cancel the installation mid-way and then retry installation or update in Google Play.

Method 2: Disconnect and reconnect to a different network

The error is very frequent in slow networks so try to connect to a different Wi-Fi or use Mobile Data LTE/3G. After connecting to the new network try to install/update your app or game.

Method 3: Clear Data and Cache of download manager

(Note: If you have any important files in the Downloads folder, copy it to another location)
  • Go to Settings >> Apps >> All >> Select "Download manager
  • Clear Cache and Data

Method 4: Clear Proxy

  • Go to Settings >> Wireless & networks >> More >> Mobile Networks >> Access Point Names (APN)
  • Your mobile networks wap (networknamewap) must be selected by default >> Click it
  • Select "Proxy" >> Clear/delete the address number
  • Select "Port" >> Clear/delete the port number
  • Now open Google Play and try to update or download the app that was giving the error

Method 5: Uninstalling Google Play Update

  • Go to Settings >> Apps>>All >> Scroll down and Select "Google Play Store"
  • Select "Uninstall Updates"
  • Open Google Play Store and try to update or download the app(or game)
Some of the methods can help resolve not just error 400 but also Play store error 924 . Did any of these methods work for you? Please let us know in the comments if you have other fixes or possible solution for the Google Play error code 400.

Mi Band 2 with LCD display likely to be released on May

Mi Band 2 with LCD display likely to be released on May

During a live broadcast Xiaomis CEO Lei Jun accidentally flashed the Mi Band 2. The Mi Band 2s biggest upgrade seems to be its OLED display which will allow users to instantly read their stats like calories, steps, distance and also date/time. Previously those stats could only be read from the Mi Fit App. Users will also be able to get notifications from apps, texts and incoming calls. From the picture we you can see that the second generation Mi Band uses similar plastic strap as its predecessors, and it appears to have a touch sensitive capacitive button for navigation. The release data of Mi Band 2 hasnt been confirmed but we expect it to be announced next month when Xiaomi is releasing its flagship phablet.

The Mi Band is a $15-$18 fitness tracker manufactured by Xiaomi. The Mi Band gained wide popularity due to its insanely affordable price and features comparable to many fitness trackers that cost well over $50. The currently available Mi Band 1S or Mi Band Pulse has features like heart rate monitor, sleep tracker and step counter. Lacking an LCD display, the original Mi Band uses three LEDs to indicate daily step goal progress. It also vibrates while receiving calls or app notifications. The first Mi Band used multicolored LEDs, which could be customized for different types of notifications.

The Mi Band 2 is likley to be released on May 10, which is the same day Xiaomi is releasing its biggest phone yet, the Mi Max. Mi Band 2s price is likely to be the same as its predecessors. The Mi Max is expected to have a 6.4-inch display and a and a huge battery that will last more than a day.
