Question: q: firmware not compatible i just got a new ipod touch and wanted to update it to ios 9.2 through the device, ever since then it has been stuck in recovery mode. so i connected to itunes and it says i have to update or restore.. Firmware file is not compatible that means the ipsw you got is not the right one for your iphone, ipad or ipod touch, or your itunes doesn't recognize your firmware file. therefore, to fix this problem, you need to get a right firmware file or make your computer recognize this file..
